A girl named Kit Tyler sailed from her home in New England to Wethersfield where her aunt lived. Her aunt and uncle were her only family she had left. They let her stay with them, and Kit decided that she did not like it there because she had to do so much work. Kit's cousins toled her that there was a witch that lived near Blackbird Pond, Kit did not believe it so she went there herself. Kit learned that this "Witch" was nice her name was Hannah Tupper. Kit really liked her so she kept visiting her, but her Aunt found out and tolled her not to go there again, or tell anyone at the Meeting. Kit still went there and found out that Nat the Capten of the ship's son also visited Hannah Tupper. Mercy and Kit started a school together and had fun until they got in trouble for letting the kids play. Fall came and Judith Kit 's cousin got exited for the Husking bee holiday.

I like my book, but sometimes it is hard to follow. It is hard to follow because there are old fashioned words like erect and thee, and a lot of names and a lot of people. It is hard to really know who is taking. So that can make it very complicated to read, and follow the book.

I predict that Kit Tyler will marry William Ashbey. This will probably happen because William has already asked Kit and is waiting for her answer. Kit wants to it sounds like but she also thinks she is to young to marry yet. Also Nat will probably tell Judith that he likes Mercy and not Judith. I also predect that Kit will become closer to her Uncle.
